The Mukilteo Wolverines is one of the premier youth football organizations in the Pacific Northwest. We are Located in the heart of the Mukilteo, Wa. We serve kids between the ages 5 to 14 in the Mukilteo School District. We are dedicated to instructing young players in the safe and proper fundamentals of tackle football. The purpose of this organization is to provide an opportunity for every youth participant, ages 5-14 to learn the game of football; while focusing on maximum community participation. Mukilteo Youth Sports sets its program apart by focusing on being closely aligned with Kamiak High School's system and terminology.

We compete in the WESCO Junior Football League (WJFL), snohomish county's top youth football league. The WJFL is comprised of 12 member organizations all residing in snohomish county.( Stanwood, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Everett, Mukilteo, Meadowdale, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Cedar Park, Snohomish & Glacier Peak ). Many WJFL players go on to play and star at local High schools like Kamiak High School, and some have even gone on to play in college. The WJFL has 4 divions of play:
  • Peewees (ages 5-7)
  • 89ers (ages 8-9)
  • Juniors (ages 10-11)
  • Seniors (ages 12-14* (No high school freshmen).

Wesco's divisions are designed to limit the impact of a younger less physically matured children being forced to participate with older more physically coordinated children which increases the potential of injury. Mayo studies have proven the dated beliefs that co-efficient weight tables and modified age charts do not increase safety and in fact expose younger children to more risk for injury than the older lighter player.

The Mayo study sites an old formula in its findings; force = mass x velocity. The number one determining factor of speed and strength, is age maturity and not weight. WESCO Youth League play has proven the early development model of the 5-7yr old division, then 8-9, 10-11, & 12-14 has a distinct and measurable advantage over other leagues that start later in age and divide based on weight.

Our System has geographical boundaries, which are the same or similar to the local high schools. Mukilteo Wolverines program is unique in its approach to teach the offensive & defensive system, techniques, and philosophies as employed at Kamiak high school. This approach not only ensures consistent development and growth from the youngest level to the incoming freshmen. It gives our players the advantage over most kids not within the system or starting the sport at a later age. A player residing outside the boundaries of Mukilteo school dist, are still allowed to play! There are a limited number of spots for out of area players; this helps prevent children being displaced from the program of their community.
